Council of Ministers

Ministry Leader: Pastor Michael L. Brown

The Liberty Hill Baptist Church Clergy Council is made up of the Pastor and the Associate ministers of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. This council meets regularly to strengthen each other in prayer, to support the vision of the church, and to provide spiritual leadership for the church and community. This council is also a servant council responsible for the religious education, spiritual guidance, and moral counseling. The Pastor is the overseer and provides training, direction, and support!

Deacons Ministry

Ministry Leader: Deacon Ronald Gibbs, Sr., Chairman

Meetings: 4th Tuesday of the month

6:00 p.m.

The Deacon's Ministry is the official leadership board of the church. The Deacons help facilitate the Pastor's vision for the church, while supporting various ministries of the church. The Deacons are assigned segments of the membership depending families assigned by the Family Deacon Program Committee. It is the responsibility of the deacons to make monthly reports of the well being of the members, keep the Pastor informed of any changes that may occur in a family's situation during the month, and provide assistance to families in their time of need. The Deacons will serve Communion with the Pastor on the 1st Sunday of every month at the church, as well as with his sick and shut-in members. Each member of the Deacon's Ministry must submit to God, assist the Pastor, serve and lead the Body of Christ, and witness to the unsaved with faith, love, hope and integrity.

Trustee Ministry

Ministry Leader: Trustee Lieutenant Echols, Chairman

Meetings: 3rd Tuesday of the month

6:00 p.m.

The members of the Trustee Ministry are called upon to manage the affairs of the church, along with the Pastor. Trustees are called upon to deal with legal and financial matters. All contracts and papers requiring legal signatures are dealt with through the Trustee Ministry. Building and maintenance, budget management are also essential ministry duties assigned through the Trustee Ministry. It is the duty of the Trustee Ministry to maintain a sense of moral uprightness and integrity in keeping with the principles of the Bible.

Ministers, Deacons and Trustee Wives

The mission of Deacon, Minister & Trustee Wives’ Ministry is to assist our deacons, ministers and trustees in carrying out the pastor’s vision for the church. By pledging our alliance to God, to serve humanity when and wherever needed; To be a consecrated Christian Deacon’s, Minister’s and Trustee’s wife, by living a Christ-centered life daily; to be a willing servant to serve with love, telling the good news of Jesus with faith and prayer for all.

Christian Education Ministry

Ministry Leader: Rev. Wanda Claytor

Christian education is at the very heart of the church. In the educational process the Spirit of God encounters people of all ages so that they are nurtured in faith, grow in knowledge and experience, and are inspired and empowered to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. This call to discipleship compels us to share our faith and serve others in the home, the community, and in God's world. There are many opportunities, workshops, and classes to develop your faith to be used of God. Below are a few options for you and your families growth and development.

Culinary Ministry

Ministry Leader: Sis. Geneva Coles-Ross

The Culinary Ministry assists the church by working to provide refreshments or meals prepared and served with volunteers who are adequately trained in areas including safety and sanitation. The culinary volunteers lead the third Saturday Community Meal program and serves at specific events held at the church.

Fine Arts/Drama Ministry

Ministry Leader: Bro. Kevin Taylor

The Drama Ministry uses Christ-centered drama, skits and theatrical events to evangelize the lost and edify the body of Christ. This ministry produces various presentations throughout the year for the community. They also correlate with worship themes within Liberty Hill to better enhance the message of God and enlighten the people of God. Their rehearsal schedule varies.

Media Ministry

Ministry Leader: Bro. Dwayne Claytor

The Media Ministry has responsibilities for audio/video, live camera feeds, PowerPoint, photography, graphics and print products and social networking. The ministry develops and maintains the branding/identity for the church and helps promote ministry efforts and activities through creative marketing and the news media. The ministry also helps provide information for electronic distribution, overseeing and ensuring an informative church web site and providing engaging content for social networking sites.

The Brotherhood (Men's Ministry)

Ministry Leader: Bro. Michael Wilcox

Men need men to strengthen and encourage one another. The Brotherhood equips men to become spiritual leaders in their homes, in the workplace, and in all the places they walk in this world. It is designed to bring men into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by uniting them in fellowship, Bible study, prayer, ministry, and accountability. The Men's Ministry also supports the needs of the church by cleaning up and fixing different areas throughout the church facility.

Missionary Society / Circles

Ministry Leader: Deacon Renee Street

The Missionary Ministry is the official evangelism and outreach community service ministry of the church.  The Missionary Society serves the best interests of our community by actively practicing Job 29:15,  “I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame;” Proverbs 31:20, “she stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy” and Isaiah 50:4, “The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.” Our Missionary Society trains its members to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through works of mercy, spiritual care and teaching the Christian faith. 

 

Music Ministry

Ministry Leader: Sis. Bonnie Newell

Music ministry is the spreading of the word of Jesus Christ through song. It is the aim of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Music Department to build an exciting musical atmosphere where the presence of God is enhanced through an all-inclusive ministry in music. In addition to the traditional hymns of the church, our choirs will share a variety of music styles that enhances the worship experience. Hymns, anthems, contemporary gospel, and praise and worship music will round out our worship experience. We will also create new inspiration original music inspired to edify believers and glorify God.

Nurses Ministry

Ministry Leader: Sis. Charlene Jackson

​

The function of the Nurses Ministry is to care for the congregation and Pastor, by educating members on health, medication, and good nutrition.  They seek to encourage a healing relationship with God and respond to medical emergencies that may occur during worship or any other services hosted by the church. It is the ministry's desire to provide comfort and urgent care during worship and funerals while serving the Kingdom through spiritual guidance, worship,  fellowship, and outreach in the community.

Resource Center

Ministry Leader: Sis. Paulette Childs

Meetings: As Needed

​

The Resource Center provides a variety of resources such as clothes, shoes, personal hygiene products, mental health, food pantry, and other items to assist the community with standing on their own. The items from the center are donated from members and outside organizations and are either new or gently used (except for personal hygiene products).

​

S.H.A.R.E. Ministry

Ministry Leader: Sis. Janice Turner

The S.H.A.R.E. Ministry works hand in hand with the other ministries of the church to assist with evangelism and serving the church membership. They are responsible for sending cards, contacting members, initiating prayers, acting as a liaison with the Deacon Ministry and remains in constant contact with the Pastor.

Transportation Ministry

Ministry Leader: Bro. Dwight Jackson

Meetings: As Needed

​

The Transportation Ministry provides service for individuals who would not otherwise be able to attend Sunday worship services, Bible studies or other engagements the church may have. Information will be provided to members regarding how to schedule their pickup times.

​

Usher Ministry

Ministry Leader: Bro. Joseph Brown

Meetings: As Needed

​

The Usher Ministry is available to accommodate every Worshipper who enters the church with a seat in the most pleasant and efficient manner possible. Members are in uniform and serve every Sunday morning as well as revivals, special programs and fellowship with area churches. The Ministry ministers to the well-being and comfort of the church member while offering assistance and overseeing the orderly gathering of GOD'S  people for worship.

Women's Ministry

Ministry Leader: Sis. Lisa Jackson

Meetings: 1st Saturday of the month

The Women's Ministry desires to meet ladies right where they are and come along side them - encouraging, supporting, praying and equipping them in their journey with God. They inspire to grow their faith and demonstrate His love and grace through our lives and relationships. The Women's Ministry encourages each other to want deeper, Christ-centered relationships with each other through women's small groups, prayer meetings, fellowships and mentoring and to encourage and equip women to faithfully and fully use their God-given gifts to glorify God.  As we worship and serve the Lord together, we want every woman to feel loved and accepted for who she is in Christ so that she is transformed and empowered to live out Christ's love and grace.

Youth & Young Adult Ministry

Ministry Leader: Sis. Denita Fletcher

Meetings: 2nd Sunday of the month

The Youth and Young Adult Ministry is designed to aid the youth of the church by engaging them to learn more about Jesus Christ and applying the lessons of His life to their own lives. This is accomplished by youth specific bible study, retreats, youth activities and worship designed specifically for their age group.
